Yala Peak Climbing (5637m) is located in the Langtang range directly north of Kathmandu within a 9hrs drive from Kathmandu to the trailhead at Syaphrubesi. The drive is very spectacular itself along the Trishuli river gorges, with great views from the tops of many high points on the roads. Yala Peak Climbing is not difficult, prior climbing experience is not required though but previous outdoor experience and the average level of fitness are recommended.

The trek commences with farmland, villages, forest, conifer, bamboos, oaks, and pines. During the spring forest looks enchanting with flowers all around. After passing this magic scenery we follow the narrow gorge of Langtang River till we ascend to the large alpine grassland of Kyanjin Gumba (3800m) where the glacier meets the meadow. You can see Yaks grazing with the backdrops of snowy peaks of Langthang Ri, Langtang Lirung (7246m), Dorjee Lakpa, and many other unnamed mountains around you. This trek enables you to explore the Langtang National Park the home of Tibetan-looking people, the Tamangs.

Itinerary of Yala Peak Climbing

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu city.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi where we spend the night.
Day 04: Syabru – Lama hotel (2470m) – 6 hours.
Day 05: Lama hotel – Langtang (3490m) – 6½ hours.
Day 06: Langtang – Kyangjing Gompa (3920m) – 3 hours.
Day 07: Explore the Langshisa Kharka -Acclimatization in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 08: Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp
Day 09: Climb Yala Peak and descend to Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 10: Kyangjing Gompa – Lama hotel – 7 hours.
Day 11: Lama hotel – Thulo Syabru (2200m) – 5 hours.
Day 12: Thulo Syabru – Dhunche
Day 13: Dhunche to Kathmandu
Day 14: Sightseeing around the Capital City Kathmandu and farewell dinner in the evening
Day 15: Depart from the hotel and transfer to the airport
