On the Tibetan Plateau, in the great Himalayan rain shadow, lies Diplo, a legendary Ba-Yul or ”Hidden Land ”, geographically cut from the rest of the world by a barrier of high mountains, deep gorges, and thick forests. This Upper Dolpo Trekking route passes many gigantic mountain ranges – Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Kanjiroba, to name but a few passes through Lower Dolpo, at one time a small kingdom in its own right.

More recently we have repeated the route of Upper Dolpo Trekking with variations and our groups see very few other  Europeans so they are enthused greatly about the wild remoteness, the stunning mountain scenery, and the fact that the local people had that innocent friendliness peculiar to people who live in excessively remote mountainous regions.

Day 07: Rest day at Shey – Phoksundo Lake
Day 08: Trek to Silver Forest
Day 09: Trek to Sehula Bhanjyang (Ngondala) Base camp
Day 10: Trek to Shey Gompa
Day 11: Rest day at Shey Gompa
Day 12: Trek to Saldang
Day 13: Rest day at Saldang
Day 14: Trek to Sibu
Day 15: Trek to Jenjla La Base Camp
Day 16: Trek to Se La Base Camp
Day 17: Trek to Dho Tarap.
Day 18: Rest day at Dho Tarap
Day 19: Trek to Big Cave
