Pokalde Peak is quite a complex mountain, although its basic situation is simple; it’s a section of the long tapering southwest ridge of Nuptse South of Kongma Tse with the Kongma La dividing the two. We climb to a rocky pass and follow a beautiful snowy ridge and cross rocky pinnacles. We continue following the ridge to a little more difficult climb through stones and finally to the narrow rocky summit.
The North East Face of the mountain from east of Kongma La could be the easiest way to get to the summit of the Pokalde peak. We climb up through broken rocks and snow to the summit ridge and then to the summit. We could have a chance to explore the Chhukung valley and other Himalayan ranges of the Khumbu region.
