Ghandruk Trekking is a beautiful Shortest Trekking you can do in the Annapurna region. The Ghandruk trekking takes you through beautiful valleys, dense mossy forests, and icy waterfalls. One can view the majestic Himalayas around every corner on the trek. No doubt, the trek also offers a unique experience to every visitor which cherish for the Rest of their lives.
The region is dominated by the Gurungs and Magars. Dense Rhododendron Forests, Varieties of bird species, deep sub-tropical Valleys, Traditional villages, age-old Tradition and Culture, Hospitable People, Ever-Smiling faces of the people, and Majestic Mountain Views are some of the major attractions of this Trek.
When you arrive in Kathmandu, you will be collected from the airport and transported to your hotel. If you arrive early in the day, you can explore the city, and rest in your hotel.
Pokhara is a lovely lakeside town that has an ideal climate and is the launching point for trekking in Annapurna. It has a slow and relaxed atmosphere, an abundance of tourist shops selling artisan products and trekking equipment, and many delightful restaurants and cafes.
We will arrive in Pokhara around mid-afternoon. You will have the option to go boating on the lake, take yoga, or just relax and explore the town.
From Pokhara, we drive for 1.5 hours to Nayapul along a route that will give us our first glimpse of the beautiful Nepalese countryside. We trek through terraced fields to Birethanti (1025m) and then continue up the trail to Ghandruk. On route will we be rewarded by a beautiful landscape and breath-taking panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountain Range including the mountains of Lamjung Himal and Manaslu.
Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal and is interesting due to its Gurung architectural designs. Ghandruk is also a major recruitment ground for the famously fierce and brave Gurka who form part of the British Army.
Ghandruk is a picturesque village and with the Himalayan Mountain Ranges prominently in the distance, Ghandruk has an awe-inspiring feel and captures the essence of the Himalayas.
Leaving Ghandruk we use a suspension bridge to cross the river and follow the trail to the Modi Khola valley. The trail then continues to the villages of Tolkha and Deorali before passing through an oak forest and arriving in Pothana.
This long day of trekking will be rewarded with stunning views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Fishtail (6997m), Annapurna III (7755m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m) and the Lamjung Himal (6930m).
On our last day of trekking, the trail gently descends and we will trek through a rhododendron forest and arrive at Dhampus. After a break, we will descend through fields and forest to Phedi and then drive for 45 minutes to Pokhara.
We travel back to Kathmandu in the same way that we came. The afternoon is free for you to relax and explore the city, buy souvenirs from many artisan shops, visit the attractions, or indulge in the tasty cuisines served by Kathmandu’s many cafes and restaurants.
