Langtang - Gosaikunda Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel (1350m)
You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, as per your scheduled flight. Our staff is waiting to welcome you, warmly. After brief introductions, you head to the hotel and rest. You again meet our team and discuss the details of the trip over dinner.
Day 2: Rest Kathmandu to prepare official documents
Today, you will spend some time doing an formal procedure, and later you will join Kathmandu sightseeing. Then, you head to Kathmandu Durbar Square to explore the history of the city. There, you'll have a Newari style lunch. You head to the next destination, Swayambhunath Temple, and visit the monasteries and also view the panorama of Kathmandu Valley. The sightseeing ends at Boudha, where you explore the stupa and have Tibetan style dinner.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi (1950m): 7-8 hours
After an early breakfast, you hop on the vehicle heading northeast to Syabrubensi. The road winds along the banks of the Trishuli River through the hilly landscape and small rustic settlements. En route, you get to see glimpses of Annapurna, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. In the late afternoon, you arrive at Syabrubensi for the overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 4: Trek from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel (2390m): 5 hours
After breakfast, you start the first day of the trek by crossing the Trishuli River via a suspension bridge. You walk through terraced farmlands and then gradually enter dense forests. You might get the chance to see various animals like a red panda or wild boar. The forest starts to get thinner as you get near the Lama Hotel. From here, you get to see the Langtang National Park. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3520m): 5 hours
After breakfast, you hit the trail going through a rhododendron forest. You pass by villages like GumanechokandThangshyap, which are mostly inhabited by Tamang people. En route, you get to see the first glimpses of Langtang Lirung, the highest peak of the Langtang range. You reach Langtang village in the late afternoon. The village is also the headquarters of Langtang National Park. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 6: Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3850m): 3 hours
After breakfast, you head uphill to Kyanjin Gompa. The trail goes through broad pasturelands for yaks, so you may get to see yaks and its herders. After passing by small rustic villages of Sindum and Mundu, you arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. The village is surrounded by Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri. Before dinner, you head to explore the monastery. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 7: Rest in Kyanjin Gompa to see panoramic views from KyanjinRi or Tserko Ri
Today, you explore the Kyanjin region, and after breakfast, you hike up to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri, as per your choice. The hike to these peaks is not too strenuous, and the trail is rocky. From the top, you can see amazing views of the landscape and the mountains like Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, and Dorje Lakpa. After enjoying the view, you descend to Kyanjin Gompa and visit the local cheese factory, which uses yak milk for cheese production.
Day 8: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela(3000m): 6 hours
You have your breakfast and clean up the camp area. Then, you proceed to go downhill and retrace the steps. You walk past small villages and yak pastures. En route, you get to see Langtang Lirung. Then you arrive at Langtang village. The forest area starts to appear gradually, and you finally reach Ghoda Tabela for the overnight stay.
Day 9: Trek from Ghoda Tabela to Thulo Syabru village (2240m): 6 hours
After breakfast, you descend to Thulo Syabru village through forests filled with bamboo and rhododendron. En route, you get to see many small settlement areas inhabited by Tamang and Sherpa communities. As you approach near the village, Ganesh Himal starts to come into view. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 10: Trek from Thulo Syabru village to Shin Gompa(3350m): 5 hours
After breakfast, you start your ascent to Shin Gompa. The route takes you through a bit rough and rocky climb. En route, you get to see amazing views of Ganesh Himal. Finally, you reach to Shin Gompa in a relatively flat way. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 11: Trek from Shin Gompa to Gosainkunda(4380m): 5 hours
After breakfast, you ascend through the rocky route and reach Chyolangpati. From here, you can see breathtaking views of the Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, and Ganesh Himal. Then admiring the sights, you arrive at Laurebina. Later, passing a monastery and other smaller holy lakes, you arrive at Gosainkunda. Before dinner, you can explore the lake. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 12: Trek from Gosainkunda to ShinGompa(3350m): 4 hours
In the morning, you can take a dip in the holy lake if you want. After breakfast, you explore the surroundings once more and then head back to Shin Gompa. En route, you enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains like Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. Overnight stay at a teahouse.
Day 13: Trek from Shin Gompa to Dhunche (1970m): 5hrs
Today will be the last day of your trek. After breakfast, you hit the trail that goes through dense forests filled with bamboo and rhododendrons. The settlement areas also start to grow in size as you near Dhunche. After the forest area thins, you arrive at Dhunche for an overnight stay ata lodge.
Day 14: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu: 7-8 hrs.
After breakfast, you prepare to depart for Kathmandu. You hop on the vehicle heading to the capital and then drive along the banks of the Trishuli River. You pass by rustic villages and stop at Belkot for lunch. Then admiring the hilly landscape, you arrive at Kathmandu. Finally, you transfer to your hotel and rest.
Day 15: Free day and fly home
Today is the last day of the trip. If you have time before your scheduled flight, you can go shopping for souvenirs or relax at a café. Our staff will make sure to drop you off at the airport on time.
