Nagarkot Tour

Nagarkot located about 14 km north east from Bhaktapur at the height of 1838 meter from the sea level is the best place for countryside walking and mountain viewing. It takes about an hour by car to reach from Kathmandu. On the way to Nagarkot one sees the terraced farm land and pine forest. It is the only place from where one can view a panorama of the entire eastern central Himalaya – Everest, Numbur, Chooyu, Nuptse, Makalu and to the west Manaslu and Himalchuli five of the world’s ten hightest peaks. By night overlooking the charming sparkling lights of the Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot is incomparable. One can see many varieties of flowers and can enjoy the songs of the many birds in the morning.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel

Day 02: Kathmandu-Nagarkot

It is just 1 hour Scenic drive to Nagarkot Hill from Kathmandu City. Nagarkot offer really fresh Air, Totally out of hustle & bustle of City and a really nice place for Sun Rise & Sun set views close from city.

Situated at an altitude of 2175 m. to the east of Kathmandu, Nagarkot stands proud as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. It offers incredible panoramic Himalayan views like Mt. Everest, Manaslu, Gauri Shankar and many others. It also promises the most magnificent unparallel sunrise view. Its favorable climatic condition makes it the very ideal getaway for holidaying and honeymooning. It has best resorts, cafeteria and restaurants.

Day 03: Nagarkot-Dhulikhel-Namobuddha- Dhulikhel
Early morning view sunrise. After breakfast start drive to Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel - this scenic and ancient town is situated 30 Kms east of Kathmandu on the Arniko highway. From here one can have a complete panoramic view of the snowy ranges of the Himalayas. Dhulikhel is bound to Kathmandu from the East by a distance of 30 kms. Traditional heritage, unique cultural setting and breathtaking views of the snowy Himalaya makes Dhulikhel one of the favorite tourist destinations in Nepal. Nothing can be more fun and adventurous than taking short treks on its routes.

The supreme sacred place known as Namo Buddha is located in the mountains about 1 ½ hours from Dhulikhel. It is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world. It is known as the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. There is a very old temple in the village of Namo Buddha, located below Thrangu Rinpoche’s land, which sits on the top of the mountain. Several lamas have determined that the actual site where the Buddha gave his body is actually on Thrangu Rinpoche’s property near the retreat center. There is a cave with statues of the prince, the tigress and the cubs on this site. Namo Buddha is otherwise known by Tibetans and people of the Himalayan regions as “Takmo Lu Jin”, which is literally “Tigress Body Generosity”.

Day 04: Dhulikhel- Kathmandu
After Breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu or next destination
